Samsung Unveils One UI 6.1 Update, Bringing Advanced AI Features to More Galaxy Devices

In a move set to redefine user experiences across its product lineup, Samsung Electronics has announced the rollout of its highly anticipated One UI 6.1 update. This latest update, slated to reach an array of Galaxy devices including the Galaxy S23 series, S23 FE, Z Fold5, Z Flip5, and Tab S9 series, is expected to revolutionize how users interact with their devices.

One of the standout features of the One UI 6.1 update is the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities both natively and on the cloud. This advancement underscores Samsung's commitment to harnessing the power of AI to enhance user experiences across its ecosystem.

Scheduled for release by the end of March, the Android 14-based OS update is poised to reach millions of Galaxy users worldwide. Samsung aims to extend the reach of these new AI features to over 100 million Galaxy users by 2024, marking a significant milestone in the company's AI strategy.

Among the innovative AI features introduced with the Galaxy S24 series is live translation in 13 languages, split-screen functionality, circle-to-search, note assist, browsing assist, transcription capabilities, and photo editing assistance. Partnering with Google, Samsung has introduced these cutting-edge AI features through its collaboration, known as Gemini, further enriching the user experience.

TM Roh, President and Head of Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung Electronics, expressed the company's vision for Galaxy AI, stating, "Our goal with Galaxy AI is not only to pioneer a new era of mobile AI, but also to empower users by making AI more accessible." He emphasized Samsung's pivotal role in driving the AI revolution, particularly as mobile devices have become the primary access point for AI technologies.

However, Samsung acknowledges the challenges and responsibilities associated with AI development, highlighting that AI models are still susceptible to errors such as hallucinations. Despite these challenges, the company remains committed to pushing the boundaries of AI innovation while prioritizing user privacy and security.

Looking ahead, Samsung hinted at the possibility of leveraging AI capabilities on select Galaxy wearables to enhance intelligent health experiences. This strategic move aligns with Samsung's broader vision of integrating AI into various aspects of everyday life, further cementing its position as a leader in AI-driven technologies.

As the rollout of the One UI 6.1 update draws near, Samsung users can anticipate a transformative experience fueled by the seamless integration of AI across their Galaxy devices, setting a new standard for mobile innovation in the digital age.
