In the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2024, is Brij Bhushan considering running from Uttar Pradesh's Kaiserganj? The former WFI chief asserts that he is a formidable candidate in the fray.

BJP leader Brij Bhushan Singh, who previously faced accusations of sexual harassment by female wrestlers during his tenure as the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief, hinted at running for Lok Sabha elections from the Kaiserganj constituency in Uttar Pradesh. The BJP hasn't announced its candidate yet for that seat.

Singh stated that although he's not currently a candidate, he believes the BJP has a stronghold in Kaiserganj, referring to his previous victory with a significant margin. He expressed confidence in winning again, even if the candidate announcement happens just an hour before polling.

The upcoming elections for Kaiserganj are scheduled for May 20, during the fifth phase of Lok Sabha elections. Singh previously won the seat with a substantial margin in 2019, securing over 5.8 lakh votes.

Despite facing allegations and a case of sexual harassment filed by female wrestlers, Singh declared his intention to contest the 2024 Lok Sabha elections from Kaiserganj in June 2023. This move came amidst protests demanding his arrest. Although the Delhi Police filed a case against him, he was later granted bail.

Singh, a long-standing parliamentarian and former WFI president, also oversees multiple private educational centers in his constituency.
